The Academic Calendar outlines all important dates for each Term (Fall, Spring, Summer) and each Session within a Term. The sessions are numbered 1-4.

Session 1 Classes run all 16 weeks of the Term – highly recommended for dual students
Session 2 Classes run the first 8 weeks of the Term
Session 3 Classes run last 8 weeks of the Term
Session 4 Classes run the last 12 weeks of the Term

Finding the correct term

Since we are in the Fall 2024 term, I am only looking at dates in this column.

Sessions

There are 4 different sessions with different start dates and lengths throughout the Term. They are highlighted here below. Be sure when you are looking at the calendar, you are paying attention to the dates associated beneath each session. Session lengths were discussed above.

Registration Dates

Each Session has a different registration date. Take a look at the different dates highlighted below.

First Day of Classes

These dates are the MOST IMPORTANT to pay attention to! You do not want to miss your start date as that can put you behind. This can be found on the highlighted section below. What is the start date for Session 4?

September 9, 2024 is the start date for session 4.

Drop/Add Dates

These are the last dates to change your mind on a course before the Session begins. Keep your counselor informed about any classes you drop. This could affect your ability to meet high school graduation requirements. During the fall term, parents will be required to sign your Drop/add form. Starting in November for the Spring term, students will be able to manage their own drop/adds without a form.

Withdrawal dates

These dates are the last time you can withdraw from a course. It is important to discuss the number of times you are allowed to withdraw as a Dual Enrollment student. Please be sure to speak with your Student Success Navigator and Guidance Counselor before withdrawing from a course. Dual students are limited to a total of 3 Withdrawals and/or Failures. Students who accumulate 3 Withdrawals, or 3 Failures or a combination of the two will no longer be able to dual enroll. Students are encouraged to discuss all Withdrawals with their school counselor. During the Fall term, students will be required to complete a Withdrawal form to request that the Dual Enrollment team withdraw them. Starting in November, for Spring 2025 Term, students will be able to withdraw themselves from a class. IMPORTANT – Withdrawals should be discussed with a counselor prior to taking this step.

Final Exams

Important to pay attention that not all dates for final exams are listed! Instead, LDC is listed, and it stands for Last Day of Classes. Refer to the Last Day of Classes for your final exam date.

Holidays

These are dates that the college is closed and you will not meet. However, you may still have course work due during this time. It is important to watch for due dates on your Canvas calendar and announcements from your Professor.
